It’s time for a change!

What in the hell is going on in the rodeo world? Sorry if that sounds harsh, but sheesh.

Is anyone ever satisfied? The judge, the flag man, the calves, steers, ground, etc…..the list of complaints goes on.

No matter how hard anyone tries, how much effort anyone puts in, or the amount of money people spend, people continue to be negative and down right nasty.

I completely understand wanting better for the sport and getting frustrated, but what solution(s) will YOU be bringing to the table?

For 49 years JE’s lived and breathed the western heritage, ranching, and rodeo world. He’s served on every board you can think of and his goal while being on those boards has always been to continue to grow the sport and the culture. And to be honest, right now it’s a TOUGH culture to be apart of.

What JE said to me the other night hit on a different level……

“I waited 40 years to be able to rodeo with the best of the best, I looked up to these guys, and a year of stock contracting took that away from me.”

That cut like a knife and makes me hurt. Losing friends and getting cussed over steers? Come on, we’re better than that.

Y’all, this sport is a blessing.

It’s raised generations to know what hard work looks like.

It’s connected people across the globe and brought community that’s turned into family.

This is the sport doesn’t kneel, we stand proudly.

And a sport that shares the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ.

It’s time to set pride, greed, and egos aside and look at the bigger picture. Be thankful we’re able to live another day doing what we love….and if it doesn’t bring you joy, go find something that does.

And I say this with all the love.

XoXoXo,

Christi Bland 💜
