On the Go

For work, for play, and mainly because we live 2 hours from any “big” city, most of our time is spent in a car or pickup and horse trailer. My husband has rodeoed for years, along with my boys, so driving 4-5 hours is nothing for us. Of course now that the boys are grown and out of the house it’s just JE and I traveling together from rodeo to rodeo….and finding hidden gems along the way. We’re all about going off the beaten path to see the beauty God’s made.

Empty nesting is not what I thought it was going to be….it’s even better! When the boys were in high school our house had a revolving door, as I’m sure most of you can relate. I remember wondering what my life was going to be like without the chaos.

Well let me tell you…..it’s GLORIOUS!!!

We go when we want.

We cook what we want.

The house is cleaner.

And if we’re super candid, I love not having to close the bathroom door or always have clothes on…just sayin!

So these days you will find JE and I spending our time all over the USA with our sweet 8 year old dog, Lefty. He’s more spoiled than the boys ever thought about being….and I’m ok with that. You will find us googling reviews and eating at local restaurants, searching for local favorite dives and upscale fine dining. JE loves good tequila, I love good wine, and we both love great food.

26 years and counting and JE’s my best friend, biggest supporter, and the husband and dad everyone wishes they had…..but it wasn’t always roses…..let’s save that story for another day.
